ExxonMobil

AFA has been granted three awards of £250 each over the last 18 months. These awards are the result of William Craig an employee of ExxonMobil and one of our members, submitting AFA to the Volunteer Involvement Programme run by ExxonMobil.

Award 1

Dell Inspiron 2200

The first award went towards the purchase of a replacement laptop. The original one from IPC gave up for the second time and the cost of repair (if that was possible) was beginning to outway the cost of buying new. The laptop Inspiron 2200 was purchased from Dell.

Award 2

OKI 3200

The next award made it possible to buy a laser printer which is used to print the newsletter and any society business to a very high standard. The printer purchased was an OKI 3200 from Printerland.

Award 3

LX200

The most recent award was used towards the purchase of a custom made case to take the Meade 10" LX200 GPS telescope. The original box this telescope came in was beginning to fall apart and we had to have some means of transporting it safely, it's too expensive to let fall out the bottom of the box. The case we chose came from Green Witch which is the trading company of the Greenwich Observatory
